"When you acquire one of Jim's pieces, it's more than just buying a knife - it's entering into an OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE. Tastes are subjective, but quality is not, and there's quality on every level in Jim's knives - the workmanship is flawless, the action perfect, the materials beyond fault, and his designs are always surprising: The more you look, the more you discover to love - a Burke custom will clutch your interest forever. Jim's knives are also indestructible. And then there's the magic: when you first open a Burke and the blade locks up, it's not a "clang", it's a "THUNK", like closing the door of an Aston Martin... it's totally addictive. Nothing else really satisfies after that." Rahim Khan
"When I think I of Burke Knives I think of the words: integrity, soundness, incorruptible and completeness! Jim has a great sense of design and how a knife should work and flow...inside and out! Family is a big part of Burke knives.......when one has a strong family that supports he or she in their profession it shows ....plain and simple! It very obvious when you own a Burke knife and hold it in your hand, a firm adherence to a code of moral and artistic values overcomes you! Get one and you WILL get the point! Every Burke knife has a great feel to it and when you use one you will understand. It is hard to put in words but they speak for themselves. Jim's firm adherence to a code of moral and artistic values overcomes you - that is when you know you have something special." Wilkes Bryan
- "I have carried and used Burke knives for over 5 years. His grinds are second to none and his designs are always impressive. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next. Jim makes some of the finest tactical knives available." Michael McLaurin
- I bought Jim's Resurrection folder. This thing is a tank. Nice, big knife, but thin as well, so it rides in the pocket quite well. Feels very comfortable in the hand. Lock up is so strong you'd think it was a fixed blade. I collect Tom Mayo's TNTs. I rarely buy anyone else's folders. I use the TNT as a benchmark when judging other folders, so it is rare that I am this impressed. Russ Jenkins aka BladeZealot 04/27/04
- "Jim, here's some feedback on my knife. Love it!! I like big strong knives and this fits the bill nicely. Big comfortable handle, great liner lock. I'm not worried about this one at all. The first thing I did was give it a "once over". Great fit and finish, even grinds, centered blade, solid lock up, smooth opening, it's all there. I like the clip as it's not overly long as some are, yet it's tight and strong. One thing though, is being tip down and with the clip's high placement it can be hard to grab and the off side side stud will catch on heavy pocket seems like on jeans. I have learned to twist it a little to over come this. As this was my first "handmade" I never really thought about requesting some changes. One thing I would have changed was to make it tip up. I see your prices have gone up as I knew they would, as you make great knives."
